Bite-sized wisdom, less than ten minutes long. The rebuke,
a difficult biblical mandate that no one likes to do but is
necessary. How to righteously rebuke: the motives, approach, goal,
and fall-out. March 30th, 2011.
Thanks for your response! I posted Part Two about the Holy Spirit's role in rebuking.
Good. Rebuke is a tool of the Holy Spirit intended for correction of those wise men who will hear instruction and increase in learning. I am learning its awesome power against evil. Most important to understand is that only God has authority over evil, thus, rebuke of this type can only come from the presence of the Holy Spirit. It does not involve ranting and railing...but is according to the following: Jude 1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.' A quiet and calm rebuke from God is effective.
